Take In Nature at These Palatine Parks

In the winter, we naturally want to stay inside. But time spent outdoors is just as important when it’s a bit chilly as it is during the warm summer months. If you’re looking for the perfect place to get in touch with nature near our Palatine apartments, look no further than these Palatine parks.

Deer Grove Forest Preserve

Boasting almost 2,000 acres and some of Illinois’s highest-quality natural areas, Deer Grove Forest Preserve is one of the best places to enjoy our beautiful environment. With both paved and unpaved trails, Deer Grove has options for beginners and more advanced hikers alike. Most trails even have picnic shelters and water available nearby, so bring your bike, horse, or just your legs and get going! Visit their website to see the hikes they recommend for each experience level.

Plum Grove Reservoir Park

Plum Grove offers a large lake with small piers, making it a great spot for catch-and-release fishing. It has a long, paved walking path. If you have a dog you’d like to bring, then you’ll be happy to learn it also has an adjacent dog park!

Riemer Reservoir Park

Riemer truly has something for everyone: fishing, dog-friendly trails, and even a skate park. It’s also well-known for its 18-hole disc golf course. The area dries up quickly after rain, so it’s always a viable option, but make sure to plan a few extra minutes for parking.

These local Palatine parks are perfect for grabbing some fresh air and enjoying nature. Take a look at the rest of our blog for more things to do near our community, and feel free to contact us to learn more about our Palatine apartments for rent!
